Mr. Lamanna is an award-winning director of theatre, film and television residing in Rome, Italy. He has directed many National and World Premieres throughout Italy. The National Premiere of SISTER CITIES by Colette Goodman opens in July. Mr. Lamanna recently directed National Premiers of L'EBREO by Gianni Clemente (with Ornella Muti) and ASSUNTA SPINA by Salvatore Di Giacomo, in national tours throughout Italy. Over the years, Mr. Lamanna has directed the Italian-language National Premieres of LARAMIE PROJECT by Moises Kaufman, THE LAST HOURS OF HENRY MOSS by Sam Shepard, HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH by John Cameron Mitchell, LOVE, VALOUR, COMPASSION and CORPUS CHRISTI by Terence McNally, THE GOAT by Edward Albee, THE FULL MONTY, NUNSENSE by Dan Goggin, PROOF by David Auburn, SISTERMUSIC by Carol Polvocar, and many other works by such authors as Arthur Miller, Woody Allen and Andre Gide. He has also directed National and World Premieres by many Italian authors including Paolo Logli, Adriano Bennicelli (RADICE DI DUE), Carmelo Bene and Francesco Appolloni. For television, he directed NOTTURNO DI DONNA CON OSPITI, by Annibale Rucello. For film, he won a Golden Globe in 2006 for Samuel Beckett's ATTO SENZA PAROLE. Mr. Lamanna won Jury First Prize for ANGELO COME TE, which he also wrote. He has studied in the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York, and has worked with U.S. talents such as Joel Schumacher, Lily Tomlin and Bette MIdler. In Italy, he studied privately with masters from the Conservatorio di S. Cecilia. Mr. Lamanna is a member of the Actors' Studio since 1984, and a member of Tribehollywood since 2007.
SILVIO NANNI, Asst. Director
is an actor, playwright and director living in Rome, Italy. He recently performed the role of Stefano in his original monologue, Da Quale Parte del Vetro, for which he previously won First Prize in ADMO 2004. He has assisted Enrico Maria Lamanna in Ivan Cotroneo’s Cronaca di un Disamore and Salvatore di Giacomo’s Assunta Spina, in which he also performed the role of Flaiano. Other recent roles include Creonte in Edipo Re, Fabrizio in La Locandiera, Cinesia in Lisistrata, and Nicolas in Chekhov’s Memorie di un Uomo Impulsivo. He has also acted in films such as Il Lavatore, Parole Sante, Play Run, The Unplugged, Ancoriamoci, Lo Sconosciuto, Anni 30, Where Angels Hyde, and The Mission. He has performed in commercials for Progresso and Corso di Lingua Italiana per Stranieri.
MARCO ZURZOLO, Original Music
(Naples, Italy 1962) graduated in Flute and in Jazz Composition and has a Masters Degree in Saxophone at the Conservatory of Music in Naples. There, he also studied the saxophone that became, over the time, his principal instrument. During his career, he made several different musical experiences collaborating with many Italian and international artists, in recordings and live tours. Among these: Chet Baker, Solomon Burkes, Van Morrison (at the Royal Albert Hall), Don Moye and Art Ensemble of Chicago, Mike Minieri, Enrico Pierannunzi, Marc Johnson (who collaborate in the CD in preparation for 2005), Archie Shepp, Joe Lovano, Airto Linsay, Kocani orchestra, Gil Goldstein, Rita Marley. Since 1995 he began composing and has published 10 CDs of original music, which are distributed all over Europe and Canada.
He has composed music for many films, theatre pieces and television, winning many awards and prizes, including “il premio qualità” of the Italian Ministry of Culture.

DAVID CAUDLE, Playwright
Mr. Caudle is the award-winning author of several plays and screenplays. SOUTH BEACH RAPTURE will have its World Premiere in FringeNYC 2010, directed by Michelle Bossy. Other plays include IN DEVELOPMENT, THE COMMON SWALLOW, LIKENESS, VISITING HOURS, DAMSEL and THE SHORT FALL. Mr. Caudle is a proud member of the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group at Primary Stages, where he developed SOUTH BEACH RAPTURE. Based in New York, Mr. Caudle is a Miami native who often sets his plays in his hometown. THE SUNKEN LIVING ROOM (Samuel French) takes place in a Miami suburb. SOUTH BEACH RAPTURE takes place on the beach itself. Mr. Caudle's work has been described as: "at times twisted and often unexpected" (Backstage); "surprises with... mystifying aura, dramatic punch" (Village Voice); "funny, touching and disturbing" (Times-Picayune); "unsettling, funny, poignant"(Miami Herald.) Two short films have made festival rounds. “Landfill,” directed by Anezka Sebek, and "Feet of Clay," directed by TRUE BLOOD’s Carrie Preston, based on his award winning one-act (Samuel French). MAKOTO TAKADA, Costume Designer
Mr. Takada is very pleased to be joining the HOWL! Festival again this year, having costumed THE COMMON SWALLOW in last year's Festival. Mr. Takada works for Motto Mode, a costume distressing company, recently distressing the costumes for THE SCOTSBORO BOYS at the Vineyard Theatre. He has worked as a costume technician for shows On and Off-Broadway, including CHITA RIVERA, A DANCER’S LIFE and BERNARDA ALBA at Lincoln Center. He was a costume design assistant on the Apartment 929 Theatre Company’s MOTEL PLAYS. Having received a BFA in Fashion Design from FIT, Mr. Takada also has designed three gowns for the Emmys Red carpet, for actress Carrie Preston (TRUE BLOOD). He is currrently designing her fourth Emmy gown. He also designed a gown for actress/singer Kelli O’Hara for her appearance at Ted Kennedy’s Gala 77th Birthday Celebration in Washington, DC. Mr. Takada won the CosmoGirl Born To Lead Design Competition, and was featured in CosmoGirl Magazine. He spoke as one of three up-and-coming designers on a panel discussion at the 2008 New Yorker Festival. Mr. Takada would like to thank the HOWL! Festival for this continued opportunity.
AUSTIN BRANSGROVE, Lighting and Sound Designer
recently moved to New York from Denver, Colorado. He has worked previously at the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center, the Cardinal Stage Company, and Hope Summer Repertory Theatre. Previous credits include Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Sound Designer), Charlotte’s Web (Sound Designer), Parade (Lighting Designer), Company (Lighting Designer), and The Front Page (Lighting Designer). He has received several awards and honors from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, including the Region III Barbizon Award for Excellence in Lighting Design.
